We are seeking an Engineering intern for Summer 2025 currently enrolled in university, to work with our Team at a construction site near Idaho Falls, ID.

Role will be onsite at a construction site at Idaho National Lab. The ideal candidate for this position will reside a commutable distance from our Scoville, ID project office since no relocation assistance or per diem is offered for our internships. USA citizenship is required

Job Qualifications

·       US citizenship required.

·       Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.

·       Must be an engineering student from an accredited university.

·       The ideal candidate for this position will reside a commutable distance from our Scoville, ID project office. 

Essential Requirements:

·       Physical Requirements: Work will include conducting frequent environmental surveillances in the field across an active construction site. Work will be split between the field and an office setting. Some walking and standing will occur in the course of a normal workday to perform environmental surveillances on Subcontractors. May carry light items, such as reports, data products, notebooks and laptops.  

Work Environment:

·       Cubical environment 

·       Frequent field work environment that will include walking across uneven unpaved surfaces, exposure to the elements (wind, noise, dust, and rain)

·       Inspections will require bending and stooping on occasion

·       May be in a restricted work area.

Criticality of Attendance:

·       Must be able to work within the normal daytime shift (0700 – 1700)

·       With the exception of STD/LTD/FMLA & approved time off, attendance is considered essential.

Equipment and Machines:

·       Standard office equipment and machines: personal computer, scanner, copy machine, telephone, printer, fax machine, and other office equipment including desk supplies.

·       While performing duties in the field, there will be exposure to heavy mobile construction equipment

Other Essential Functions:

·       Must be able to secure and maintain a security clearance. 

·       Must pass drug testing.

·       Must be able to read and write effectively in English.

·       Must embrace Beyond Zero/Safety principles to include: adhering to safe work practices and standards while performing daily tasks, taking responsibility for own and coworkers’ safekeeping and encouraging others to work safely.

·       Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management. 

·       Must perform work activities requiring interaction, negotiating, instructing, supervising, persuading or speaking with others.

·       Must be able to work under supervision and respond appropriately and professionally to criticism from a supervisor.

·       Travel requirements - may require occasional travel.
